It is hard to find words to express this, so please bear with me.

Words! The kindness and generosity of time and skills and strength by all the men who came up here this evening, after a day;s work, to cut wood and clear and stack.

Every time I see the woodpile and walk through the cleared thickets where precious light now means new trees can grow and walkways can be made.. my heart will thank them.

This surely is what that overused word "community" is about. Not official, organised formal stuff, but the simply giving of one to another in need, with cheerfulness and laughter in the hard work.

I never used to like hearing chain saws; maybe because they were no working here! Now every time I hear one in the distance, it will remind me of the kindness of boards ie Donegal...

Blessings and thanks to all who came.

Sounding as ignorant as I am

    FYP?

    Great photo!!

    Incidentally an unexpected spin off..

I was clearing the branches aside and saw leaves that were not hawthorn, but currants.

Under the tangle of brush, a plantation of currant bushes, choked and matted.

Many still there, so more added in cuttings in that cleared space. Some are ready to blossom so we shall see what kind they are. More for jam....

There must have been a fruit garden there at one stage.

All I need now is some rhubarb roots etc; that will grow so well there.

I have to tell you guys that watching .17 at work with a chain saw is watching a master craftsman..

A real privilege to see such skill and artistry; family in Canada say to tell him that they could use him there...

Please; I did not mean that everyone else who was here was not skilled!!! Worried me last night that the stalwarts who filled the air with the sound of ringing might be offended.

or the good men who thought to use the plastic sheeting as a travois...

Just some are extra gifted in some ways and some in others... as a cook I make a lousy plumber, but as a knitter....

    Blessings and peace.
