O EMPEROR play Whelan’s next Thursday 6th May. The Waterford band have been receiving rave reviews for their single ‘Po’ and their live show is nothing less than magnificent. Following amazing crowd reactions from supporting bands like Ocean Colour Scene and Mumford and Sons in recent months, an O Emperor headline show has been eagerly awaited in Dublin for months – this is one show you will not want to miss. Tickets priced €15 including booking fee are on sale now.

Support comes from Cork’s Ian Whitty and The Exchange who have recently played alongside Florence and The Machine & The Magic Numbers.

    O Emperor reviews:

"After one listen, its melodic layers, spooky atmospherics and straight-down-the-line harmonies make you yearn to hear more...one to add to your must-see list for 2010." Jim Carroll, THE IRISH TIMES

O Emperor seem uncannily older than their years. Boasting slick production along with meticulous arrangements, O Emperor have ticked off the right boxes to create a post-rock classic” TOTALLY DUBLIN

“Nothing short of genius” HOT PRESS, Single of the Fortnight review

“Beautifully polished songs, many of which should already be stamped ‘classic-in-waiting’; each seems to come complete with great verses, hummable choruses and gorgeous harmonies. Why can’t all bands be this instantly lovable? O Emperor are already different class” STATE.IE

“Of all the bands I caught last night here in Dublin at the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival, the real standout was this band O Emperor that played early on at Andrews Lane. Think FLEET FOXES/LOCAL NATIVES, with various vocalists and the vibe of THE BAND thrown in for good measure. It was warm and personal and genuine, but still has its best music ahead. Give this one some time and some sunlight and it's going to grow into something large” FUTURESOUNDS
