Id be looking at golfs/focus/corolla as the new car...

wrt the punto - thats low mileage so it may be worth something if sold privately however dont expect any value if trading in

I'd be looking at something like this:

    http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201008197014626

They are cheap to run, service and insure. The Ghia spec also has some nice toys such air conditioning, alloy wheels and cd player.

Also I would try and sell the Punto privately, given that it has a long NCT and a bit of tax it should sell if priced correctly. I reckon advertise it at around €700 and accept anything around €600 for it.

    +1 on the Fiesta.

A 1.4 Focus will guzzle about town. Possibly a Corolla or even a decent Starlet if it's mainly about town use.
