My Runners are too big

I recently bought a new pair of runners, it was recommended to me when buying them that I move up a half size but after running maybe 30KM in them my left shoe feels very loose. It is like I have a double movement in the shoe. The right shoe while it maybe a little big I think it is ok.

What can I do? I don't really want to wear thicker socks....

I'm going to go ahead and suggest buying a new pair of runners that actually fit?!! (Sorry if it seems rude or obvious!).

I don't think you (anyone) should run in runners that are too big, it leads to blisters and all sorts of problems.

Ah no I've just spent €100 on these and want to know if there is anything that can be done, my plan is to go back to the shop and see what they can recommend!! I got fitted for these instore so thought that they would know what they were about

Thought I would post an update....as mentioned above my new runners were slightly too big. Visted Amphibian King (where I brought them) yesterday evening and as it turned out just a change in socks appears to have solved the problem (with the runners anyways :) ) there is nothing they can do about one of my feet been slightly bigger than the other

Remember your runners should always be a half size bigger than your normal runner, as your foot expands when running and needs the space to move around. If your getting blisters be sure that the runner is not to wide for your foot, thats what happened to me.

Always take a 11 in runners but a 11.5 in running ones.

wonder would you get that service from LifeStyle?

For runners it always pays to go to a specialised shop. Made the mistake last year of buying replacement runners in a sale over the internet, checked the model and size of my existing ones and put the order in. When I recieved them and went out for a run they didn't feel right. turns out I had overlooked the width size and ended up doing wehat I should have done in the first place and wet to a specialised shop.

Oh I never mentioned they gave me the socks (for free) as well so don't think we would get that in Lifestyle!!!

I appreciate that runners need to be a little bit bigger but I was really feeling a lot of movement especially when running downhill but seems ok now

Wouldn't necessarily agree, a good pair of runners will take all that into account and every runner I've worn have been my regular size and I never get blisters bar the occasional one on my arch when I've been done some vigorous circuits involving fast 180 turns or something like that.
