Will you be available for and looking for work?

I wouldnt be able to juggle full time work and writing a thesis I don't think.. I would happily take 20 hours per week somewhere though. Does this make a difference?

I am deferring 2 exams until August, and when I was talking to the college secretary I told her I was concerned I wouldn't be able to sign on. She said that as far as she was concerned, if your finished classes (and not going back next year) you are finished uni.

I am applying for every job under the sun (don't get me started, 3 years bar experience from a couple of years back and I can't even get a bar job at the mo seemingly) and I see no reason why I wouldn't be able to work and study in the evening if need be.

I assume you will still need the uni letter I have seen other posters mention, so if the uni give it to you, you should be able to sign on.

One of the conditions for the payment is you are looking for and available for full time work so you would not qualify. Have a read of the FAQ thread a lot of questions on student eligibility answered there.

If you can get your college to sign a letter stating you are finishing college then you can sign on. Technically I don't think you are meant to but if your college gives you that letter then that satisfies the social welfare offices.
