    Maybe cause Daidí is a personal noun?

    My best guess at it, sorry, I'm not 100% sure!

    It takes a séimhiú because it's possessive I believe. Same as Seán's house (Teach Sheáin)

    Good stuff Dlof! Nice to know exactly the reason for that. The genitive is in there as well.

    Sorry it's a 'proper noun' not a 'personal noun'- I'm useless at grammatical terms. And it's in genitive (can be possessive alright Dlof) relation to the noun preceding it.

    On page 11 Ó Siadhail says:

    "When a proper noun (i.e names of people or places, but not of languages) follows directly, in genitive relation, on another noun, its initial consonant changes.. ie. lenition.

    muintir Cháit
    muintir Pháidín
    seomra uncail Bhairbre "

    So if it's a proper noun following in genitive relation to a preceding noun the proper noun will suffer lenition!

    To be honest, I don't always know the exact rules.. I just kind of know when something looks right or wrong.
