    Taken from welfare.ie

    Absence from the State

Disability Allowance is not payable for any period in respect of which the claimant is resident away from the State excepting where the person is pursuing approved second or third level courses of education outside the State under the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA) Scheme (see separate guideline 'Back to Education Allowance') or while receiving medical treatment which is not available in this State.

Could I do a private course in N.I and get BTEA?

Just for the record, I'm obv not paying for the private course, a relative will be paying.
