Yeah, me too, there's nothing like a good timpelapse during convective weather.

The German Weather Service (DWD) have their own weathercams dotted around Germany. See here

Hi i was using my nikon d300, had it set to take a picture every 15 seconds and then i put them together at 15 frames per second using quicktime pro. There's probably much more efficient ways of doing timelapse but what i like about this way is that you can then put the video together at very high resolution so that it's crystal clear and takes up the whole screen:D

Is there any way you can do it with a bog-standard digital camera, apart from manually taking a shot every 15 seconds??!!

Depends what camera you have, there's some software around for timelapse but it really depends on exactly what camera you're using

Wow, it's amazing to see the convection run out of gas when the sun sets. The sun's impact on cloud cover is so much easier to see when it's speeded up like that.

A d300?, my brother has a d200. Can that model do it also? ,
if so , could ya give us a few points to how to do it.
Im more of a dital camera man myself, but i know the basics of the SLR.

    Thanks in advanced .

Yep sure, basically if you just set up the camera where you want it, check your exposure settings are about right and make sure the battery's fully charged (if you want to get a decent length of timelapse).
Then, if you go to page 89 here it will explain how to setup taking shots at a set time interval with a d200.

After that it's just a matter of uploading the pics to a pc and running them into a video:)

My god those timelapses are class.

Savage as theyd say up here.

Think our Summers are actually becoming like this. Lots of sun in the morning and then heat and convection building up more than it used to because of slight global warming and boom! cloudburst and deluge.

btw put one on me website as they are so savage.
