Came across this little gem on a Barry Rhodes blog, yikes!, I'm guilty
Finally, there is one statement that many of us regularly use but probably shouldn't if the Rule on Advice is very strictly interpreted. When a fellow competitor's putt just lips out and he goes charging up to the hole to tap it in we should try and refrain from saying ……….… "Take your time"!

    I'm guilty too :D
Think though its just a habit. I've seen so many people rush up to a short putt and miss. :D

I guess many of us do though I'd say it were very unlikely anyone would get dq'd over it. Speaking of advise I played in a junior scratch in kinsale on Saturday and my playing partners off 5 & 6 who knew each other regularly used phrases like "4 o'clock appointment" to indicate they had used a 4 iron on a par 3. I said nothing as they were plesant company and their rounds were never going to figure in the prizes. You may be sure if they were going well I'd have lodged a complaint.

Ive a habbit of saying it aswell. But if somebody tells me to take my time i feel like giving them a slap with my putter. Last thing you want to hear after missing a putt. :o
