I have a pain in my foot where the arch meets the heal. I must have pulled something. Anybody had a this kind of pain before. I'm not sure where it came from. I've been active for many years and this has come out of the blue.
I've had it for 5 weeks and it's not subsiding.
    Arch supports make it worse.

Physio/Podiatrist would be the type to ask.

Read the thread on Plantar fascitiis. It may ring bells.

Just noticed it. Sounds long lasting - I hope thats not it.

If it is PF, then you need to start the icing and stretching etc as soon as possible. The longer you leave it, the tougher it is to fix.

PF has a very specific pattern of pain (worse first thing in the morning, or after any rest). If your pain is not like this, get it checked out at once. Anything which has lasted for five weeks should be taken seriously.

Eileen: No advice of that nature please.

OP: You need to see a health professional.
