I backed Music Show after the Nell Gwnn - thought she showed a quality turn of foot to sweep past the field about a furlong and a half out. She idled a bit in front but will obviously come on for the run. Fallon had to choose Seta over her as he needs to stay loyal to Cumani if he wants to be the stable jockey.

Pollenator 17.00s, some ante post write up on ATR made me do it!

    I took Rumoush @ 8's EW.

She got hammered in the betting after she was confirmed and I wasnt around to catch it as it was falling...7's now mostly
I won on both her previous starts so Im expecting the relationship to develop into something special

It is too early for mainstream prices yet. If you contacted a bookie they might price up your fancy though.

I have Rumoush but I like Pipette. The price is totally gone, wont be taking 20/1.

Also Lady Darshaan. 25/1 looks a bit silly. Ill have that at half the stake of Rumoush.

Steve Dennis on the RP site mentioned it last year in his blog but at that time I didn't realise they'd both be in the Guineas...

WTF! Why is there a Hibaayeb and a Habaayib???

Just ridiculous...if they're gonna make up words they clearly have no imagianation:D

I like Hibaayeb for this one each way at around 20/1

It seemed a fairly unsatisfactory race in the end.

Whether the winner should have been disqualified or not - I haven't seen the head on, so can't really give a fully informed comment. From the side angle it doesn't actually look like Special Duty was taken seriously off a line or interfered with, but angles like that can be deceptive.

The draw in this race blew the chances of Rumoush and Music Show. Rumoush drawn widest of all. There is something to be said for a smaller field in these straight track Group 1's.

Pity aboout Cecils filly. I havn't seen the head on either. Cecil deserves a big win IMO. Bloody French have whitewashed sport this weekend.

I reckon if it was the french one in the place of Cecil's,no way in hell would the race have been reversed.

    Why?

Cecil's horse took Special Duty from near the rails to the middle of the track. If Special Duty had been inside instead of outside, she would've run straight while Jaqueline Quest would've hung right, and as a result, Special Duty would've won. She never had a chance to run straight and was rightly awarded the race.

I have seen much worse drifting not awarded.
I mean, can you imagine stewards awarding a classic to a 66/1 outsider taking it from the favourite?

From the head on its *a bit* more convincing.

The fatal mistake of the jockey was not to pull the whip through.

Fair point, but I think the correct decision was made.

So many horses have popped up at big prices over the years - the two first past the post this weekend being prime examples. Cockney Rebel at 40/1 a few years ago, and theres been a few 50/1+ placed horses as well.
These are the horses who would be in danger of missing the cut if you reduced the field to say 16 runners.

By the way theres also a sporting chance that future races will prove that the draw wasn't actually that influential in the fillies race.

Scully and Luther are right - the result was correctly reversed on it's own merits. It's got nothing to do with an outsider being demoted in favour of the favourite. The jockey must be seen to be using his whip to correct the horses drifting - and early.

Well, whatever about the draw, Rumoush is clearly a 9f+ filly and didn't get an adequete tow into the race. She only had Musi Show and MS was way off the pace.

They should have gone to the rail on the far side, Still wouldn't have helped them win but could have got a little closer.
