    Is this any good??

    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5080032.htm

Acer get such good reviews. I'm looking for something with at least 3GB ram, I have a laptop at home but want one for travelling, what I will mostly use it for is downloading sound files for typing (I run a typing business), and am not fussed about watching dvds or media etc. This says '3GB DDR2 ram, does this mean 3gb is installed already?

I've gone on to Dell and their Inspiron has a lot more bells and whistles but is coming in around €170 more expensive and I'm just not sure I need it.

Also does the Ferrari above have a dvd/cd drive, I have some typing software I need to install so would I need to be an external drive?

Any help at all greatly appreciated or any ideas about other similar models..

    Many thanks:confused:

Hi, I bought one at the end of last year - mine has 2GB RAM though. It doesn't have a built-in DVD drive, so you would need a USB drive which can be picked up cheaply enough. It has a dual core AMD processor which performs better than the Atom-based netbooks, but the downside is the fan comes on quite a bit (it's not something that bothers me). Its fine for web browsing and can handle youtube videos no problem. If you want to know anything in particular ask away. I have since bought an Alienware M11x for gaming and could be persauded sell my Acer at considerably less than that Argos price :)
