Nero Express - Delete data from CD

Folks, I'm trying to delete a coupla pdf docs from a cd disc.

When I try to do this with Nero Express I highlight the document, click on the "Delete" button, the document disappears from the window but not from the disc.

So I tried with Nero StartSmart ... went to "Extras", "Erase CD", have the options to Full-Erase or Quick-Erase but the "Erase" button is not an option with either, only the "Cancel" button.

It's probably something simple but I've no experience with this software. Any thoughts?

    Many thanks in advance

You can only erase a complete disc at once, not specific files, and only with CDRW discs

Here's the problem. Think of a cd as a wooden table top. When you write files to it you physically scratch in to the wood. So what you're trying to do essentially is "fill in" those gaps. Which can't really be done! (ok bad analogy but bear with me).

The only thing to do is to copy the contents of the cd to a folder on your desktop. Delete the two files there and reburn the cd again.

Thanks to you both! I have no qualms about erasing all the data on the disc BUT ... as it's a CDR rather than a CDRW so that wasn't an option.

    I'll get CDRWs in future.
