Just wonderin if anyone has had any success wit clearin blockages in these pipes and how ye went about it. have wet spots in fields, getting progressively worse as years go on. the dykes are full and the drains arent visible, presume they are covered. hopin to clear them this weekend with a 6 tonne digger. will this free up these drains or will i need to snake them with some piping to get them goin? hopin it will solve the problem as new drains will be costly. as well as that, wud u recommend drawing away the dirt from the dyke or just levelling it on the bank? any advice wud be great

If you can find where the clay pipes enter the drain, then push something up along them. It might free them up. Although, it would be alot easier to create new shores and put in the yellow piping, or even just fill them with stone.

Don't leave the crap you dig out of the drain in the field either. If you have some low spots, perhaps try fill them in with it.

Another thing to consider, would be closing the drains altogether. It will end the maintenance of them, and you gain some extra ground. Its not cheap at the initial point, but overtime it may work out better.
