Looking for some help with this one. Is there a way I can check to see when my penalty points have been struck off? I got 3 for speeding roughly 3 years ago and I'd like to be able to check if they're gone. Any help appreciated.

Ireland introduced a penalty points system in 2002, based loosely on those of the United Kingdom.
Points are issued by the National Safety Council for a list of 36 traffic offences, ranging from 1 point for minor offences up to 5 points, generally for serious offences requiring a court visit. Once 12 points are accumulated, the driver gets an automatic 6 month driving ban. Points lapse after 3 years. Drivers may be banned outside of the system - such as for drink driving, dangerous driving and excessive speeding, most of which have no points amount.

    Hope this helps.

To get straight through to the department that deals with them: Call 09678288

Have your driving licence number handy (not the big red one on your licence)

You should get notification in the post to tell you that the points are gone off your licence.
