Need Major Help: Buying a New Laptop!

I'm looking to buy a new laptop and am a bit on the technologically challenged side so looking for any help or advice people could give on the type of laptop that would be good. Any ideas/info seriously appreciated!

    Budget: Between 600 - 800 euro

Intended use: Mostly for doing research, internet, e-mail and watching shows online.

Mobility: Mobility is kind of important, would be bring it places so would like it to have a screen size between 13-15 or so inches and for it to be lightweight. I'd also like the laptop to be very fast (not sure if this is RAM that I should be looking at for this?) and also that it not be very noisy as the previous laptop I had would wake the dead! A good battery life would also be a priority for me as I travel a bit.

Warranty: I guess depending on the price of the warranty and what not I would prefer to have one but wouldn't be essential.

    Operating System: Windows operating system

Would really love any general advice or information people had as I'm kind of clueless on laptops. Many thanks

I'd say something like this would do you -battery life of up to 11 hours - but remember that if you've got wifi/bluetooth turned on that will reduce. That 11 hours is on the battery included, but note that the battery sticks out the back a bit (2cm) which isn't shown in the pictures. That one comes with 1 year warranty, total cost is €669.

Realistically for what you're doing you could probably get away with the model below it either, and upgrade the RAM to 4GB for about €40.

Personally I've never had problems (with 12 years of Dells), on the other hand I'm sure a google will find people who have :) They're a well known respected brand, and probably in the top 2 or 3 brands in the country.
