im looking into hiring a plane, bout 120-150 seats if possible, for a few football based trips over the winter

what sort of prices are we looking at?

    Not cheap at all.

Titan Airways (UK) do alot of that sort of work. Would also be worth looking at Jet2 or Thomson, they'd have spare capacity for that sort of work over the winter.

Cityjet were chartered to fly the Sligo GAA team from Ireland West to Kerry last year on a 146 jet so they might be an option.

Aer Arann do some charters but max is 70 seat turboprop and they can't go much further than UK.

A320 can handle 170/80, 737-800 will take max 189. So you're into widebody territory after 200 seats. A 757-200 would probably be the optimal aircraft though I'd imagine it will be a lot more expensive than booking scheduled flights. Titan have a 752, and Thomson, Thomas Cook, Monarch, Icelandair, Jet 2 also operate them as well as some charter airlines:

Airbus 321 in all economy format (Aer Lingus for example ) has 212 seats.
sounds just about perfect for your job.
Just dont know anyone hiring them.

2,500kms approx is the range of the new ATR 72-500. Depends on weight, but that's the ball-park, but ya - they can go further than the UK, quite a bit!

A Boeing 737-900 would also do the job (215 seats), although they're rarer than the A321, I think.

Just remember though its coming into peak season so scheduled flights are going to have more pax onboard and so their A/C will have more flights.
For chartering the A/C during peak the qoute will be alot higher than during off peak (winter schedule)
