    Long story short....

Friends Dimension 4300 running XP (SP2) infected with some sort of nasty which constantly reloads the XP Screen.

I have attempted to start it in SafeMode with Networking without success.

However I have it running in SafeMode proper but it does not have anything in Network Connections.

What I would like to know is.....can I setup a new Internet Connection within SafeMode to download an AV programme and then attempt to clean the Virus/Malaware out ?

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Download to a USB stick using a different computer and then run it from the USB stick in safe mode.
