British party calls for end to Muslim immigration

    http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/04/24/2881853.htm?section=justin

The far right British National Party has called for an end to immigration from Muslim nations saying it presents a deadly threat to the UK.

The promise to stem the flow of immigrants is contained in the BNP's election manifesto launched overnight by party leader Nick Griffin.

"Britain is full. It's the most overcrowded country in Europe," he said.

"It's time to shut the doors to persuade to get to leave all the illegals, the bogus asylum seekers, the foreign criminals."

The manifesto states "there should be absolutely no further immigration from any Muslim countries, as it presents one of the most deadly threats yet to the survival of our nation".

The BNP recently changed their whites-only membership policy after it was ruled unlawful by the courts.

The rules of this board require you to input your own opinion not post press-releases/articles alone :)

Obviously as they are a nationlist/racist party this comes as no surprise and as such hardly worth them mentioning it.

Well it is clearly a very complex issue. The fact that Britain colonised many Muslim countries goes a long way to explaining the level of immigration from Muslim countries, so some might say it is just a natural process of people wishing to return ' home' to the 'Mother Country'
Queen Elizabeth is haed of the Commonwaelth, so it is natural many people from the former colonies would wish to live in her Majesty's backyard !:D

It does present the challenge of discussing why Muslims on the whole are more reluctant to become part of the 'national fabric' in either the UK (or even here), than say blacks, Irish, Polish, Hindu, etc?

We can ignore the BNPs triumphalism and still be allowed to debate and try to work on this issue.

As mike65 said, the forum charter clearly requires you as thread starter to include your own views, as the board isn't a cut & paste press release outlet. It's the duty of a thread-starter to give birth to a reasoned discussion, or at least attempt it.

Given that you've been on the site two hours after that was pointed out, so presumably chose not to, I'm locking this. I don't have a problem with pretty much any political issue being discussed, despite this not being particularly newsworthy for the reasons pointed out, but reading the charter is a simple thing that every thread starter should have done. My suggestion is that you read the forum charter.
