Elections are great at giving empty hopes and promises (especially for a great tomorrow)
But who do you replace and with what?
    What would really change?

THis reminds of of that south park episode that was aired the night Obama was declared president elect. All his supporters go out partying and tearing things up cause it's all going to "channnngggge".

Same would be true here. Put FG, SF, labour or any of the number of quack parties that have sprung up over the last few months in to power; it makes no odds because the problems are still there.

It seems to me that opposition parties are offering people ridiculous changes such as free GP visits, no wage cuts for PS workers, dole payments not cut etc. What I would love to see would be a party of intelligent and honest people who will lay out what WILL be cut and their plans for doing it. But, as long as idiots are allowed to vote, that will never happen.

How does honking a car horn lead to an election ???

    Heading to Merrion Square now.

Better than just moaning about stuff on the Inernets.

The Politics section of boards is a discussion forum, not the equivalent of an advertising board in your local Tesco. As thread starter it's your duty to give birth to a reasoned discussion, including inserting your own views on the discussion topic. Please read the forum charter before posting again.
