I am seriously considering and looks like i will purchase one of these, any reviews, comments be it positive or negative on this AEG?

I am aware its not for running around with and is a support gun which suits me.

    Thanks!

I know several lads , myself included , that bought one as a support gun but they never get brought out. They are in the "nice to have" group but are no more use than an M4 and a few hi-cap mags.

used properly any support gun is an incredible asset to your team. As far as the 249 para goes, while with upgrades it can be an effective support weapon it suffers from a couple of drawbacks, it has a short barrel, so range and accuracy will be limited to something similar to a regular AEG. If it was me, I'd go for the MKII 249 or perhaps even an M60, both of these have longer barrels and the scope to upgrade to a long tightbore, increasing effective range and accuracy. As a support gunner, you're not going to be scoring massive amounts of kills, but being able to deny your enemies freedom of movement and keep their heads down at range through volume of fire is satisfying in itself.

Went for the para at the end, didn't like the M60 as i could not effectivaly reach the handle as the box mag was sticking out the left hand side of the gun.

Gotta try attach this red dot now!
