    Hey all,

Just 3 questions i need help with the 96 hiace im doing up.

    1. How to remove the entire dashboard, i wanna paint it marblise purple, so far i have bottom half removed....it feels like there are screws or something by bottom of windscreen that i cant get at.....

    2. What type of bulbs are used in the dash board, wanna change them to purple leds but just dont know the name of them.

    3. What kind of fittings do i need size wise for a couple of dials im gonna attached to the dash, ie.. oil water temp, revcounter and voltmeter..

Any help on these would be greatly appretiated..

LEDs will cause problems in that they won't disperse the light in the same way as a bulb. better to remove the old bulb, scrape off the blue/green coating and use glass paint to colour them.

I'm intrigued by the project could you post more details?
sounds hideous yet exciting at the same time ;)

Will those Exhausts have any problem getting through a DOE?

That is wicked Dave, thats the one regret i have so far is the alloys i got cos its dead hard to get 6 stud alloys for hiace...some places were trying to sell me car alloys for it:rolleyes:.

Out of interest, would a hilux alloy fit on to a hiace..???
If so could you link where you got those beauties:)

I dont know if they are the right pcd for the Hi Ace. Hi Lux is 6 x 139.7. My wheels came into Ireland on an American pickup.

Shame, nice find though man...You know if the a team theme doesnt work you can always do the general lee theme with those wheels, their practically perfect for either a team or dukes....:D

Cant wait to see the pics when you get your project started

    :)
Just been looking at your pics again. You should measure the pcd for your wheels. I would say it is the same as a lot of Jap 4x4s. The only problem might be the off-set.

I hear that, being planning this project for over 2 years and being collecting parts for those 2 years and only got off my lazy ass in the last 2 months.....

As for the offset, your on the ball there mate, was asking a mechanic mate "so handy to kow one" and he even said the same. Me thinks i just work with what i have and respray them black and red.

Another ques if any one can answer, im definatly considering putting in an intercooler and had planned to put on an bonnet vent on the hood. Seen a few on ebay and such.
My ques is this, have anyone put one on thier car and regretted it afterwards and where is a good place / site / link to a place that sells bonnett vents (universal).....

I love it..........my only gripe about the movie is the van isnt done up the same way as the series......:(.

Still cant wait for it though......biggest challange is to get van painted before movie release....atm its in the workshop gettin the dings and dents out and gettin the rear spoiler on........

It would probably look better with a few dents left on it. Dont forget to add the bullet holes too
