It's not fast, but for William and Harry what they got/are getting is basically a rushed introduction to life in the British Military so that they are familiar with all aspects of the UK Armed Forces when they take over.

Well he started flying in early 2008, so it's not that rushed. I would think they put him in SAR because while dangerous enough it isn't front line and there is little risk of him being shot at or sent to a sandy place.

There was a daft piece somewhere that he could end up flying rescue missions in Northern Ireland. This the breathless reporter seemed to think was front line flying. The ceasefire etc, seemed to have escaped his attention. In any case the the Irish Coastguard often cover the North.

Dont forget Harry was in a sandy place not too long ago.

Actually there is some truth in that as its been noted quite a few times on UK Mil Forum's

While i agree with you there recent developments show there are some who would take a pot shot if given the opportunity as was seen when 2 BA Squaddies were murdered.

Yes but William is the future king and Harry is the feckless and expendable second son. Plus they've learned their lesson.

He could end up flying here too. Visiting Bal for example. It's nature of the job.

and plant bombs but I do think even those clowns would stop short of attacking a rescue helicopter even if they knew who the pilot was, which they won't. To be honest there is probably greater danger in Britain from Islamists.
