Shin Splints & Solues Muslce Strain

Not looking for medical advice here at all.

I injured my Achilles last year and thankfully have been fine so far with it since I started back in Jan. I still get a little soreness on the heel but the physio said to expect that.

I am trianing for half marathon in July and playing GAA 2 days per week. I recently experienced some bad shin splints and soreness in the solues muscle. Now I think this is down to a change of studs in my boots which aren't all same size so changing this. In the meantime, I'm going to get some supports to help. I can run on it no problem, its just sore and stiff afterwards. Just wondering if a calf support or gel heel insoles would be best? I've rested it a lot this week but just want to make sure I'm supporting it during recovery.

Have you tried wearing compression socks? Do you train on the grass or on the road? Try calf support for a week then compression socks after.

Running is all done on the road - I'll pick up the new studs and the calf support and see how that works for the next 2 weeks. Thanks
