Just bought some degreaser online, and know I need a lube for after applying the degreaser.

What's the difference between a dry or a wet lube?

A dry lube is a solvent with something like graphite or teflon carried in it. The solvent carries the lube into the chain and dries there. Should be less likely to gather road dust etc.

A wet lube is a solvent with an oil disolved in it. Again the solvent carries the lube into the chain but, because it's an oil, it's less likely to wash out in wet weather.

Make sure you rinse the chain after putting the degreaser on it and dry it thoroughly, otherwise applying lubricant onto the chain will not be much good.
