really basic media enclosure...do they exist anymore

    Hi there,

    I think my request will be totally out of place here, and perhaps I might just need to go back to 2004 to get what I want but - I have a chunky old CRT television and an 80gb (stop laughing) drive which sits in a brandless media enclosure which basically just gives a file storage menu to scroll through.

    The other day, the AV output stopped working (not a problem with cable, tv inputs etc, the thing just seems to have died). So I am looking for a similar box that do the same thing (hold the drive and give me a very basic menu!).

    Does such a thing still exist?

    I don't need HDMI output, network capability, wireless capability, snazzy menu, range of input options...I know there are fairly cheap 'mini' options but ideally I want an enclosure.

    If anyone could help I would appreciate it very much :D
