Is there any issues with running a Shimano hub/cassette with a Campy Rear mech. Am and will be using the Mavic 10sp chain

think the spacers between campag and shimano sprockets are different and the gears won't index properly.

For what it's worth, I've done the opposite on several bikes, i.e. a campag hub and cassette with Shimano drivetrain, with no problems at all. The difference in spacing is so small it doesn't really make a difference. I still have one bike set up like this. Whether it works just as well the other way around, I don't know.

Here is what I managed to dig out
"Shimano 10 cog spacing is 3.95mm and Campy is 4.15mm. To get the best shifting you'd either need a conversion cassette or a new cassette body to allow the use of a Campy cassette."
explains why your set up works Tonto. Campy spacing is wider
