Having my last day of Digital on Saturday (24th of April)...

I was just wondering if I can watch the recorded stuff even though my digital will be cut off on Saturday evening as I have some stuff I want to see on my Mediabox before UPC picks it up on Monday... I know on sky, no signal = no viewing…

Should I pull the signal cable before I go to bed on Saturday so the card doesn't get the update/kill signal and leave it out until I have watched what I want to watch or is there no way around it?

Also, last day is the 24th so when exactly is this? At 24:00 at 20:00 at 15:00?

    Cheerio

I'm don't think it's done with a kill signal, it's a keep alive. The card / box will check if it is valid before you use it. Once you cancel, you can't watch what you've recorded.

I had multiroom max pack & downgraded to value. We unplugged one of the boxes everynight so no updates ever went through. We did this for about 3 weeks. Everytime we plugged it back in we were still able to get the channels that were on the max pack! Stupidly we left it on one night & all our additional channels went, prob with the update :( ah well, nice while it lasted.

Pulled the signal cable on Saturday evening. The following morning I pulled the power to reinsert the signal lead and reinserted the power lead.

So YES it worked (or at least I think it worked unless UPC don't switch off cards during the weekend)...

So far so good. I still got an invoice running April 21st to May 20th so I called UPC to hear what this was all about. I was told that I would get a credit note for the period 24th of April to May 20th so I owed the outstanding (4 days) amount which I could pay on the 28th of April by CC as the Direct Debit had been cancelled not only on my side but also by UPC...

So, UPC are going to pick up the receiver today and I hope this is the end of UPC for ever :)
