I was thinking about purchasing this media player but i thought ask here first to see if anyone has any experience about this player ?

I was gonna go with the Iomega Director but i read a few bad comments about it already so i found out about this instead.

    Any help is greatly appreciative.

    Thanks.

nice looking device, clunky menus, cheapy remote, but great support for most media formats.
plays more formats than many other more expensive options and has dts downmixing which is not a common feature on these (handy if you dont have a dts capable receiver)

nice cheap box if you have an external drive to go with it.
    i would recommend it

One last question, can you play subtitles with your movie files on a external hard drive with this item?

yep, little "a" button switches between them.
it supports all the usual external subs along with mkv built in subs

Sorry man , this is my last question. How do you play subtitles with a movie file ? do you put both in the same folder ?

yeah, just drop them in the same folder with the same filename (movie.avi and movie.srt for example) and it will autodetect them when you press the subtitle button
