    Hello,

I would really appreciate some advice on losing weight. I am a 25 year old female 5ft 4 and 14st 8lbs. I used to be 15stone 7lbs. Got down to current weight (12 weeks) and now I can't seem to shift it any more. I eat approx 1200 calories a day. Please help, I'm not lazy, I am just sure I must be doing something wrong and would welcome any help. Thanks in advance.

    Breakfast: 40g cereal + 100ml semi skimmed milk (170kcal)

Lunch: Weight watchers soup 80-100 kcal + sandwich with low fat butter with chicken and salad (200 kcal)

Dinner: Varies but always under 600kcal

Snacks: 2-3 pieces of fruit and milk for tea allowance

Gym: 25 cross trainer + weights for legs and arms and 60 crunches 3 times a week.

im in no way a pro at this, but i can tell you what worked for me, and my cousin and a few of my mates.

A good diet ( high protein, low fat) and push yourself really hard on the treadmill/ out jogging. Nothing burns the calories like running/jogging. I spent ages on different diets and doing various exercises, but on commiting to the treadmill, and then a few other aerobic exercises, and given a bit of time, weight came off healthily.

not saying its the best, but it works, for a lot of people.

    Hi ,

Firstly congratulations on your weight loss to date, everyone hits a plateau and it can be disheartening. Stay focused on where you want to be and keep up the hard work.

Here is a few tips to take into consideration

Your programme should be changed every 4- 6 weeks as our bodies adapt to training, so either spend longer on the crosstrainer or up the intensity by changing the level you are working at. It might be a good idea to change it up completely 15 on the treadmill, 15 on the rower/bike either way you need to do something different as your body is well adapted if you are going 3 times a week. (Ask the instructors in the gym to devise a programme to suit your needs). For weight loss it is much better to go for longer periods than to kill yourself at a higher intensity.

Secondly I dont think you are eating enough food, so try to eat the biggest meal in the morning, especially if you are working out. If you eat too little the body will go into protective mode and keep all the unwanted fat as energy storage, so eat more!!!!! of the right types of food. Bulk up on vegetables and simply stop eating when you feel satisfied.

Last tip Water, Water, Water, drink up to 2 litres per day a good tip is to drink a pint of water at each meal, place a straw in a pint glass and its much easier to finish it, trust me it works ! If water is not your favourite, add some mi wadi no added sugar drink to it . Water is really important for flushing the body of its toxins, but it also helps the liver function, the liver is responsible for breaking down fat, so fuel it when you can.

    Best of luck :)

you need to start looking at carb intake and not worry about calories quite so much.

Also do a full body workout when doing the weights
