Reading up here, i see people talking about specialists for certain treatments, can anyone tell me if i should really be seeing a specialist for the following:

    Porcelain Veneer (UR1)
    Porcelain Veneer (UL1)
    Porcelain Veneer (UL2)

    Crown/Porcelain Jacket Crown (PJC) (UR2)
    PBC Post And Core (UR2)
    Cerec 1st Item (LL5)
    Cerec 1st Item (LL6)

Also, in and around what i should expect to be paying?

    Any help would be great!

any dentist can do that in his sleep. average price 800-1200 per tooth depending on location in the country. Dentists are like tradesmen- some are better than others. A specialist should be on the better end of the curve and may charge more (again depends on location)

If you have a stable occlusion this should be fine with GDP, discuss veneer/crown type with dentist, there is a big difference in quality, cosmetics and cost between standard and superior ceramics and ceramists.

I think georgie that I would want to be totally awake for that treatment plan. I would suspect there are veneers to be bonded to a lot of composite if the dentition is poor, also matching a Porcelain bonded crown (pfm) and veneers is tricky and if the UR2 is a PJC (which is it here?) then the post seems to be metallic which again can cause optical problems especially at the gingival margin. This is a tricky treatment at the front of the mouth. I for one would prefer to be doing 4 crowns (in general rather than in this specific case) as veneers are tricky to get right and IMHO need really good enamel to bond to. Is the endo in the lateral solid, had there been leakage from the old restoration, should that endo be replaced?

It all depends on the excellence of outcome the OP requires and their aesthetic demands.

OP nobody here can give you a proper idea of cost, it depends on so many factors that can only be judges by examinations of your teeth.

Hey, thanks for the replies, some interesting thoughts.

The tooth getting the crown has very little natural tooth left, and i've had a root canal on it. Its mostly made up of composite.

The three teeth i'm getting veneers for, also have alot of composite. I've attached this picture to give you guys an idea.

I've been quoted for the job, its listed below.

    Porcelain Veneer (UR1) 700
    Porcelain Veneer (UL1) 700
    Porcelain Veneer (UL2) 600

    Crown/Porcelain Jacket Crown (PJC) (UR2) 800
PBC Post And Core (UR2) 100
    Cerec 1st Item (LL5) 550
    Cerec 1st Item (LL6) 550

    Works out at 3900.

My dentist said the whole thing would take around 8 hours, the first session being the longest at 2 hours, she also said something about doing the work temporarily first so as i could have 15 days to see if i like the outcome (shape of smile etc), if not, she could make changes.

I've learned the hard way about not looking after your teeth during your youth.

I was thinking about getting this work done abroad, but after reading here, i've opted out of that. I have however emailed a dentist up north to see if they would give me an approximate quotation.

I just hope i can secure a loan to get the work done.

Dont want to get into the North v South debate again but that is a lot of work in the "aesthetic zone" so it has to be done just right. There will be abig aesthetic improvement but I cannot seem to open the image you attached.

I think that Georgie saying any dentist can do that in his sleep is a bit wide of the mark. Many dentists could do it and do it very well but maybe not any dentist, such work needs a lot of skill. The prices seem average but you could only get a definitive reply with examination and xrays etc. Dont forget you will get 20% in tax relief.
