out of curiousity, why do you want to do it? is it to jailbreak it on 3.1.2?

No but i have read that the baseband cant be downgraded from 5.12 if you start on baseband 5.8 i think it is, but u gotta have it jailbroken to check if ur baseband can be rolled back... and i cant seem to jailbreak the 3.1.3 as most video posts suggest, so im thinkin if i downgrade the sw, i might be able to get somewhere

I read on the dev team blog that the 3G can be downgraded from 3.13 because it uses the boot rom exploit. My mrs has a 3G on 3.13 and I intend downgrading it (though I'm half waiting for a single click type one because I'm lazy).

    I jailbroke my 3G (3.1.3) using sw0wbreeze, http://ih8sn0w.com/index.php/welcome.snow
worked a treat, I can't unlock it though, fuzzyband won't work with apples latest baseband.

I managed to downgrade it to 3.1.2 using my mac, and jailbroke it, but bootloader was 5.09, so i couldnt downgrade the baseband :(

Thanks for the update. May attempt this over the weekend on my wifes phone or may continue the lazy streak. :)

Its easy enough man, only thing id say is they still cant be unlocked even if you downgrade, the baseband stays the same, unless ur usings a bootloader 5.08

Cheers. I'll give it a bash so. Unlock isn't an issue. It's an O2 phone and she'll be staying with O2.
