I have been looking into this lately http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky/8370-upgrading-your-sky-hard-drive.html

Now first im wondering is there anyone on here in Ireland who has actually done this and found it to work perfect?

Reason im asking is cause im finding it hard to 1. Find a proper 1tb hard drive for it and 2. a SATA to USB caddy.

I upgraded my regular sky plus drive to a 500gig and it worked a treat.

Good to hear wish it was a simple as the sky plus boxs.
HD you have to use a seprate program on pc to set the drive for the sky box so that the full capacity works *Anything over 500gigs* Hence the reason i need a sata to usb caddy.

WD Greenpower or Samsung F3 drives have worked for a lot of people. 1Tb can be picked up for around Eur70.

I found the Samsung works better in my first gen Thompson SkyHD but I get some crashes, glitched / picture breakup playing back HD content.
I tried a WD Greenpower drive and it was unwatchable due to glitchy playback.

Copy Plus is very easy to use.

If you have a desktop / tower PC you can connect the drives directly to 2 motherboard SATA ports instead of using caddys (if you know what you're doing!).
Caddys are necessary if you're using laptop.
Look on Komplett or Amazon.co.uk. for cheap ones.

    2. a SATA to USB caddy.

Does your PC's motherboard have a spare SATA connection, I just connected mine directly to the mobo and did it that way.
