    Hi,

I have been offered a place on a Masters course in DCU. I am currently on Jobseekers Allowance.

I am unsure about a few things:

Will I be able to claim Back to Education allowance or is this just for someone who is at Undergraduate Level? As far as I am aware they don't give an allowance for Postgraduates?

Will I be able to get a grant to cover the fees..The course is €6,500+

Back to being a student, no harm considering whats happening out there at the moment..

hi just seen your posting and im at present in a similar predicament, applying for a masters, currently on jobseekers and concerned whether il get a grant to help me pay fee like yours...do you mind me asking if it took long before you knew whether you would qualify or not for a grant...

You'll lose your JSA but should get the grant if you can prove you're living independently from your parents. I got it last year but it took a while for it to be processed, however the speed depends on the councel in question. My advice, get onto it asap!
