Hi lads, have a friend who spilt some tea on his iPhone.. An try dry it out he out it in the oven :D it stopped working after the tea spilt on it..it's leas than a month old. Vodaphone rang him today to see how he was gettin on with it, he told them he spilt on it an it's not working, they didn't offer him anything. But I'm thinking maybe he Should contact apple an send it in for repair And saying nothing? Or if they find water damage maybetheyll offer a refurb?

I adjusted some of the typos in the topic(posting this on my phone) I'm dead serious, this is not a pisstake and if it was it'd be a lame try! He didn't put it in the oven on full wack, only for a few mins while it heated up,thinking it would dry it off a bit. An he went back to using his old phone. As far as he is concerned he is going to throw it in the bin, zoom wondering should he send it off as a last resort?

iPhones and iPods built since 2006 have a built-in Liquid Contact Indicator that, if activated, invalidates the warranty. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3302

Probably to late now and given that you cant remove the battery may make no difference anyway.
But here is a guide to saving a wet phone
I followed this after my beloved managed to drop her brand new tocco into a full cup of tea. That was over a year ago and it lives to this day.
