Despite Europe being in a state of meltdown in terms of air travel, this hasnt stopped 2 lads from getting to rome,

Europe may still be a no fly zone, thank to the outbursts of Mount Eyjafjallajokull (Icelandic for "yes we had to look up the spelling"), but that hasn't stopped a pair of Octanees, who have decided to sprint across Europe by land and sea to make it to a church in Rome on Friday for their Best Friends' Wedding. But instead of plumping for a cheap luxobarge or grand tourer, their weapon of choice is a 1996 Toyota Starlet.
With an itinerary that wouldn't look out of place in a Gumball run, they hope to make it to Italy by Friday. Fingers crossed, chaps!

Route is Dublin - Rosslare 2hours
    Rosslare - Holyhead 3 hours
    Holyhead - Dover 7 hours
    Dover - Boulogne 1 3/4 hours
    Boulogne - Rome 17 1/2 hours
This is all subject to change, of course. At the time of writing, the Starlet is cruising through Wales... You can follow their progress on Twitter at http://twitter.com/ToRomeInStarlet and we will be posting updates in the forums at : http://octane.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=37862

So why are these Dumbasses going from Dublin to Rosslare, and then from Rosslare to Holyhead? I'm guessing they've got there own Dinghy as no ferries go from Rosslare to Holyhead

Fair play to them, but a Toyota isn't really making it an adventure. They never break down. My mates little bro drove around Ireland in a Ciquecento (SP?) and they were on TV and earned loads of money for charity. So if people find that interesting then I'm sure they'll have plenty of twitter followers.

I'd say they'll make it to Croydon, get carjacked and bet to a pulp.
