Also a 767 from calgary seems to be going somehwere else, now it's been circling over Liverpool, in UK airspace, why can't they just let it land at a uk airport??

You mean the same one that landed at Dublin 19 days ago ;)

18.40 All Aer Lingus flights cancelled until 1pm tomorrow

Shannon Airport has said it is preparing for up to 11 British Airways flights arriving from the United States between 7pm and 9pm tonight.

The aircraft had planned to fly to Heathrow in London but if they can not land there, they will and at Shannon, where it is likely passengers will overnight.

Heathrow is closed, though it looks now as if Heathrow might open again at 10pm.

Shannon is due to close on the hour at 9pm.

Hopefully there will be a few there in the morning, it would be nice to see a few nice big 747's in Shannon for a change, they're pretty rare!

I never heard that. That's quite a big deal. How come it wasn't mentioned on any news, i.e. tv? Or was it?

The now ops-normal status is on foot of the announcement of the opening of UK airspace from 2200, it seems to me as if the flights still airborne will now go to Heathrow, it will take them around an hour. Just as I say that BAW84 has been cleared dct LIFFY to go to Heathrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,544 ✭✭✭Hogzy

Yeah one of the pilots just mentioned a plan to go to the UK or heathrow.
