How early should I arrive at Dublin Airport, having completed the web check-in

I'm travelling at the end of May to Amsterdam.

I'll be checking in online on the Aer Lingus website.

I'm just unsure as to how much time I should allow before the flight takes off, seeing as I'll probably only be taking hand luggage, and not having to check in in person.

The flight will be relatively early, on a Saturday, which I envisage to be a busy enough time.

    Thanks in advance.

In my experience recently, you can get through security and to the gate in about 30 minutes. BUT, do you want to leave it until the last minute and stress yourself out. Better off, getting through security, having a bit of brekkie, and getting on your plane relaxed with a nice bottle of water and a paper so I'd be at security about an hour before plane just in case

So you reckon if I'm there around 45 minutes before the flight takes off, I should be grand? Just as long as I pass security and be in time for the gate, I've no reason to sit around.

Don't try cutting it too tight. Did this once getting to Gatwick and missed my flight by all of 10 seconds. Took too much of a chance

if your flight leaves anytime between 6am and 9am then give yourself an hour

thats the busiest time of day in dublin airport

In my recent experience, you'd be grand but it only takes a car crash at the airport roundabout to hold you up, or a few gombeens who havent heard of the liquid restrictions or a few security staff being off sick to make you miss your flight.

Get out of your bed, and get to the airport in plenty of time and dont have me tell you again;)

I've been stood in the queue for security for that long at that time in the morning before, I then skipped the remaining probably 20minutes of queue as the flight was due to go in another 10.

Aim to get there early, and then make sure you get there with time to spare before that again. Then chill out airside and it makes for a much more pleasant trip for all.

Hi, if you did have bags to check-in, does anybody know if you still need to be in the airport 2 and half hours ahead of departure time or has that changed? I am asking as I will be travelling next week with my family and haven't used the online web check-in service before.

    2.5 hrs is a bit early .........

1.5 should be fine to be honest .

That depends. If you're flying to the US and have to clear immigration, I'd still be there quite early. Otherwise, however, having web checked in, 1.5 hours is fine

    Immigration?
We're going on a family holiday, start of June, flying Dublin > Gatwick > Orlando Int.
Any idea how, or where, immigration takes place?

    TIA.

For that route, you'll clear US Immigration when you land in Orlando.

Most, but not all, direct US bound flights from Dublin clear US Immigration at Dublin.
