Was in Boyle's today and noticed the following enhanced double up.
Sizing Europe to win & Barcelona to beat Inter Milan tonight @ 15/2.
On the screen beside it, was the betting for the 6.05 Punchestown and there was Sizing Europe @ 11/4.
Walked over to the Sports area and saw Barca were 11/8 so got the phone out and checked it.
Went over to the guy behind the counter and asked him what price SE was
(11/4) and then what price Barca was (11/8).
I then asked what the double was and he replied just under 8/1 (7.91/1).
I asked why then were they advertising "enhanced price" of 15/2 if the straight double worked out at 7.91/1?
Eh, Hmm I'll have to ring HQ and find out.
After waiting 10 minutes, no answer so walked out.
Went down the road to Ladbrokes and backed the double off their straight prices at 9.29/1.
Wonder how many "mugs" got caught out on that one this morning?

Nearly all of their ''enhanced doubles'' are shorter priced then if you just take the prices on show.

It's not just Boyles, they all seem to be at it.

    Always check prices.

l backed defoe at 4/1 for 1st goal in powers against portsmouth the other week.

about an hour before kick off they put up a power play of enhanced odds for defoe at 3/1 claiming that he was 13/5.

its an absolute disgrace how there fookers get away with blatant lies trying to cheat the punter

Most of these enhanced price doubles etc are just bets for mugs. Anytime i've ever seen them I always check and they're usually just a fraction over the odds.

You can get value sometimes on them, but only really when dealing with fixed prices that are unlikely to fluctuate during the day (for eg football matches) but rarely when they include horses.

I don't know about that, bookies definitely use these as a loss leader overall. Some of them are undoubtedly bad value but others offer great odds, so much so that if you try having your max on a powerplay in powers every single time I'd say you won't last a week without being told you're no longer allowed back enhanced prices.

The simple reason, was the the enhanced double was set up when the horse was shorter than 11/4

The double often causes the price to drift.

Guess it would depend on whether they win or not #

The simple reason, was the the enhanced double was set up when the horse was shorter than 11/4

Barca didn't move from 11/8 all day with Boyle's so the only part of the double that would have moved the price was the price of SE.
Horse opened up morning price of 10/3 (Top price around) so the double would have been just over 9/1 at opening price.
The horse was backed down so double would have gone
    horse 3/1 double 8.5/1
horse 11/4 double 7.91/1 - these are at their ordinary prices and before any enhanced prices.
As far as I can see the horse was lowest price with Boyle's of 11/4, somebody might be able to confirm that?
I was in the shop for over an hour and price of SE was always 11/4 while
I was in there, so why did the price of the double not go higher while I was there?

The double often causes the price to drift.

I guess you meant to say
The price of one of the selections (in this case the horse) often causes the double to drift or contract.

The fact I could walk into Ladbrokes straight after and have the same bet at over 9's with no enhance doesn't look good for Boyle's

PP offering 11/4 on Aston Villa&Bayern Munich to win tonight, better than 9.82/4 anyway.

Some people don't understand how the odds are calculated therefore think it's a great deal, even when it's not.

If that's your train of thought why not lay selections on betfair that are quite close to the bookies price, free money my arse
