Good episode up until the very end when Jack took the helicopter

With regards to Dana may I say, Smack that bitch :)

Charles Logan is still a crafty little fecker. He has the president doing what he wants. I want to know where that leads to.

Loved it. Jack smacking Dana about was brilliant and the Logan/Taylor scenes were brilliantly acted.

Wasn't expecting this from Taylor... You'd think she'd be "straight 'n narrow" type, locking up her own daughter and all ... and now this.

The one bit that mystifies me still is Cole. Seems like a legit guy, Jack trusts him and all... but how do you justify him sinking those two bodies after wasting that redneck... hoping they (him and Dana) would get away with it. Something does not add up. He was meant to have written a full debrief about this, but nothing came out of it.

Am still waiting for Jack's family to get involved, since that is the only leverage they'll have against him when he gets his thing going.

Hold on tight, it'll be a roller coaster, Jacko being chased by his own, chasing the Russians.

Stealing a helicopter? What was he thinking? There is no way he can get away with that...

Well, he'll prob just land on the nearest rooftop, before f-16-s get him. But it's the fact that he'll have every gov agent after him...

Fascinating moral dilemma, but I can't agree with Jack's actions at all. He's disgracing himself by putting his own opinion above the President's and thus violating the Constitution that he swore an oath to.

I'm not going to lie, stealing a helicopter is pretty badass.

But that's what Jack is all about

Has Renee's downfall not thought you anything!?

Stupid President bein bullied by turkey neck, she's as bad as the terrorists, and its all gna come out

    Pretty boring episode IMO, TBH

    Yay for domestic violence :D

All the drama in this episode came from the intense confrontations involving the President, with Logan, with Jack, even with Chloe. Logan is such a snake.

Not to condone violence against women of course but many viewers have been wanting to do that to Dana since pretty much the first episode!

It was amazing how quickly Ethan recovered and how well he looked after his heart attack. Those White House doctors are amazing. Also, did anyone else think that the emergency room doctors gave up on Reneé with undue haste? Seems to me that they should have tried a bit longer. I'm surprised Jack didn't insist on it. The difference in health care in the US!

IIRC, Jack stole a helicopter off a pad at least once before. I think it was the season with Ramon (or was it Hector?) Salazar when he was busting him out of jail.

Finally, has anyone else noticed how little Jack has been in recent episodes? Is it because Keifer was ill?

And finally finally, didn't Keifer seem like a pussycat compared to Jack when he appeared on the Jonathan Ross show last week?

Great episode ... Loved the scene between Jack and the Presidenter

I didn't like any of the presidental stuff at all in this episode. So president Taylor who for 2 seasons has done everything she thinks is right amongst other things give up her daughter to the cops suddenly starts caring about her legacy. Who convinces her to do this? None other then Charles Logan of course. Whose opinion she suddenly respects more than Ethan her long time friend, chief of staff etc and Jack Bauer who saved her life and stopped numerous terrorist acts. I mean really? Totally inconsistent with her past actions imo.

Jack on the other hand can always be counted on. Violence on women, no problem. Threatening the lives of wife and kid of a villain and meaning it, hell yeah. Going rogue against the federal government, you know it.

Nothing better than Jack Bauer on a revenge crusade. I eagerly await the carnage.

3 guys to escort Jack Bauer... rookie mistake from the president tbh.

I agree Logan's sweet talk / ego massaging talk turning Talyor a bit too quickly..

You have havo to love Logan's character.. best 24 villan by a mile.

But as Jack isn't an agent anymore he isn't bound by oath to the president and the lot... not that he cared about it much during the previous 7 days.

Bit diasapointed that two smacks in the face was all Dana got.. I had hoped for camera to be covered, Jack pinning her up against the wall and Cole having to go in and intervene (that would have been nice moral dilemma for him - or maybe not, maybe there is something about him - another mole :-)

So, who will help Jack now - Cloe, Cole, Ethan, ... ?

    She probably didn't have insurance.

I think he is on his own now. Though it would be a nice way of bringing Tony back into things, with Jack now begging Tony for help as they have killed 'his' woman!

Maybe, but I think someone has to guide him/ tell agents not to shoot to kill. And I don't think Jack is going to kill CTU agents / police first...

The difference this time is that Jack is on the wrong side. He's done some bad stuff before but it was always the 'means' for the greater good. Now he's putting his own need for revenge over the greater good and violating everything he's stood for previously.

I disagree. For him the greater good is "Justice", tho slightly biased..
He doesn't accept the peace deal is good enough reason to cover up justice.

Its too soon to tell (Taylor only disappointed him 10 min ago) whether he feels the same betrayal that Tony felt when Michelle was killed - yet.. but that might change....

If Jack doesnt go after the Russians, no1 else will. He can't just stand by and let all hell break loose.

He knows they were responsible for killing Hassan and the bomb, so who knows what else they have planned

I think Logan is manipulating Allison, so he can expose his own intelligence and make it look like she was the one coverin stuff up

Agree tho, well out of character that she wouldnt trust Jack

Haha when Ethan was taken away she said "hurry back" , then hes back fresh as a daisy n shes like "you should be resting"

Good episode, though more of a "bridge" between Jack losing Renee and the inevitable carnage that is sure to follow (and that I'm looking forward to :D).

Dana being smacked around was excellent and well deserved though all too short. The funny thing is as soon as Jack went into the room and looked at her, I immediately thought "I bet he's gonna smack her head into the table" - then boom! There it was :D. Jack in meltdown mode is always great to watch.

Still wondering was exactly Logan's angle is and what he really wants...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

It's not his decision to make.

Sure it is. It's Jack fkn Bauer. He can do what he like!
Anyway I am totally on Jacks side. Taylor is completely in the wrong about this imo. He has shown throughout he will go against authority, even the president if he feels it's the right thing to do, by any means necessary.

Not at all. The "greater good" here is the greater good in President Taylors eyes. In all fairness, a peace deal with Russia is pointless if they're prepared to try to sabotage it in the first place. The greater good is not being complicit in a cover up in order to push a peace deal through that is worthless. If the Russians are prepared to sabotage it now, they'll be prepared to break it. The greater good is surely uncovering the murders by the Russians, its not simply what President Taylor says is the greater good.
He's disgracing himself by putting his own opinion above the President's and thus violating the Constitution that he swore an oath to.

Sure the whole of Day 5 was Jack acting contrary to the "greater good" and putting his opinion (and others) above the President's, so it's not as if this is new territory for him.

It's about time that Jack went rogue anyway, its when he's at his best, acting between the bad guys and the "good" guys. The whole seaon he's more or less been a specialist who they've called in for the tough jobs, at least now he's being the Jack Bauer who always did the right thing, and the ends have always justified the means.

I really don't know how far he's going to get though in the chopper. Judging my Taylors 5 minute drive to CTU, I assume Jack is going to the UN somehow, because the airforce would clearly be on the scene very quickly given the days events.

Disappointed, fairly boring episode compared to the last few.

Think its a cryin shame this is finishing off as a conspiracy rather than a stop a nuclear nerve gas bomb going off in the middle of a city ending.

Taylor is the President, elected by the people and empowered by the constitution, and there is a world of difference between this and Day 5. Jack is someone who used to respect what America is before he anointed himself the supreme moral authority.

So what's his plan anyway? Contact Hassan's wife? If he does so, the Americans completely lose control of the situation and have to pray that she is rational enough not to let the cat out of the bag. The Russian plot going public would be catastrophic.

Come on its a TV show none of it makes sense, your post makes it seem like the show is real and that you want the peace deal to go ahead.
While his attack on Dana was good to see I was disappointed that it seemed to have no affect on her. I was expection broken nose, gushing blood but instead she popped right back up like it did not hurt (must have been used to punishment from Cole).

Good episode, Logan's scenes were all excellent. I'm amazed that he managed to convince Taylor too, given her actions in Season 7. Maybe breaking up her family has changed her?

Angry Jack is acting in as he always does; awesomely. I assume he's gonna try to contact Dalia Hassan.
