MK4 Golf - Spongy Brakes

    Hi all,
I've got a problem with my MK4 Golf at the moment. I recently had a leak on one of the rear calipers which required some topping up. I found a leak on a bolt on one of the calipers (maybe a seal is gone) but I tightened the bolt on the caliper and since then there is no leak.

Using a one man bleed kit, I bled all four calipers and sure enough I got some air coming out, I redone them all until no air was seen. Since then I have a lot of travel before the brake 'bites'. When it does bite, the brakes are still good, there is no leaking and there reservoir is full. Just wondering is it likely there is still air in the system. Is it best to jack up each corner as I bleed as one in turn. I re-bled at the weekend (with all four corners on the ground) but no air came out.

    Any advice.

Try bleeding the master cylinder too.
