Can anyone pm me with recommendation for a good root canal treatment specialist, please?

Its expensive so id like to make sure im in good hands.

    Cheers

I find <snip> in Terenure excellent. I had a root canal done there a few years back and it went really well. He's great to put you at ease and explains what's going on.

Went to ***mode edit no names*** this morning , dentist told me i need to see an endodontic to redo a root canal, which due to the state of the tooth will probably require a crown, anyone know of a reasonably priced one in dunlaoghaire area ?. The other option is to extract, its a molar and on the side that i chew mostly on. About €1500 as opposed to €150

    Might seek a second opinion

Can anyone recommend a good south side dentist Dublin 12 direction ?

I'm also looking for a recommendation for a scardey cat in Dublin 11 or 5!

I haven't been to the dentist for YEARS and have broken wisdom teeth that I've ignored. Never got any pain so I ignore them sitting in the back of my head - now another has broken. I know I've been stupid to leave them but head in the sand is my default mode. :o

The one in Ashtown is good. I used to go to one on Molesworth Street but really went downhill when the daughter took over the surgery. Recommend the one in Ashtown.

I'm trying to convince my brother to go here <snip>l The results are in. "Silver" (mercury laden) fillings are lethal. Fluoride toothpaste is awfully bad. Fluoride in the water is deadly to your health (all for the sake of white teeth)

Don't you just hate it when a company omits the price list..?

Bar the 'free breath analysis to detect mercury vapors from your amalgam fillings' as part of the €100 1st examination, and the €150 - €250 needed to fix each tooth, I couldn't see any other prices.

Either way, welcome to this forum. Though I can't imagine your stay will be for long.

Interesting, what is the evidence for your remarkable and alarming statement? Fluroide doesnt whiten teeth BTW.

    Hi all,
I would greatly appreciate if someone can recommend (PM) a good dentist for me please. I know the word "good" is quite vague, but basically by that I mean:

1 - Experienced; in the vernacular "they know their stuff".
    2 - Meticulous; does a thorough job.
3 - Modern; has a confidence-inspiring bright clinic with the appropriate technology (not the old looking butcher-like rooms with 19th-century equipment that's falling apart !!),
4 - Caring and gentle; I have a serious aversion and fear of dentists, and haven't been to one in years.
5 - Clean (uses modern technology to clean all equipment); I know they're all supposed to be, but ??
6 - Not a rip off; I don't mind paying for quality but I don't care much for paying for unnecessary and fake glitz !.

I just need check up and cleaning, and possibly some fillings.

Anywhere around the D1. D2. D5. D8 areas would be great.

If so a PM would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

Hello I am looking to possibly see a female dentist in central or south Dublin. Have not been in some years and have two problems in that 1) am very anxious about the whole process naturally and 2) have not been in so long that any dentist I visit will be thinking 'The state of your teeth is your own fault. Now I have to deal with your **** while silently resenting you for the duration of your undesirable repeat visits'. So I am inclined to keep running from the problem as a result.

I understand that it is hard for dentists who have to deal with complex problems and have an ethical obligation to advise patients on where they are going wrong, and that they have feelings too and don't deserve to be cast as ogres, and that their job is not an easy one...but I would just like to start making improvements with someone who can handle an already anxious person who quite clearly has not taken the best care of their teeth and needs a fair bit of work done.

    Hi Billythew

I am in a similar position now as you were.If you could would you mind PM me the name of dentist you went to and if your experience with them was good please?

or if anyone else reading could recommend someone in dublin 8 or city centre I would be grateful!

    Thank You

Similar situation, looking for a 'good' dentist in D6/D4/D2 area. Need to get couple fillings and maybe even implants depending on dentist's recommentation.
    Thank you.

    Hi,

Can someone please message me in relation to well known, established Dentist's in Dublin. I live in Santry in North Dublin but would commute. I'm looking for experienced dentist's from which people had positive experiences and would recommend the practice.

    Thanks

I bought a groupon voucher for a scale and polish for a dentist in a prominent retail shopping street in Dublin City Centre but when I arrived at the reception desk the receptionist asked me to fill out my personal details on a PRSI claim form which I thought was wrong as I was not claiming form PRSI at all. Perhaps the dentist was claiming PRSI in addition to the money earned from the sale of the groupon voucher. I refused to fill out the PRSI form and as a result of not going along with the whole thing the service I received was not very friendly to say the least.

    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could recommend good value dentists either in Dublin or possibly up North please?

Attended Smiles and they quoted me €350 for wisdom tooth extraction and €100 per filling?

Also €50 for scale and polish and €30 for OBG? (Not sure what OBG is, only saw it on the quote after I'd already left)

I've no medical insurance and no medical card, my PRSI covered the exam and basic x-ray only.

Thanks in advance for your help!!
