Hi folks im currently enjoying Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 but am already thinking about what other single player RPGs i can get after ive completed them.
Being an MMO junkie i never realised just how good and deep single player RPGs can be.
Top of my list is Fallout3 but a few more spring to mind but i dont know much about them, anyone played Overlord 2 and The Witcher.
    Anything else recommended?

The Witcher is a favourite of mine, and the sequel is coming out in the next few months too. It's a little tough, but Other than that, it's a lot of fun.

Fallout 3 is a must, and you can get it fairly cheap now with all the add-ons.

Divinity 3 isn't a ba game. It's a bit more action orientated and the plot isn't the greatest, but it's a well made game. Plus you get to turn into a dragon after a while.

And if you've never plate them, the Baldur's gate games are amazing. You can get the 2 games, plus the 2 add-ons for really cheap and thy've got 100's of hours worth of play in them, with fantastic storylines and some of the best characters in any game.

If you're looking at Fallout 3, I strongly suggest you try out Fallouts 1 and 2. You can get them for peanuts these days. The turn-based combat means the skills and level up stuff flows better than Fallout 3. Granted, they weren't terribly pretty games even when they came out (you can easily find patches to bring them up to modern screen resolutions though) but as RPGs they're way up there.

The Witcher is very good indeed. Very dark gritty setting, interesting story, combat is better than the usual "click on enemy once and wait until he dies", alchemy system rewards exploration and preparedness. Level up system is vast, possibly confusing, but quite thorough and satisfying. I particularly like the soundtrack. Well worth playing.

Another one worth looking into is Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. The combat is pretty weak, but it scores over Oblivion in several other ways. The world and its characters are much more varied, the magic system is far more versatile, and the main story is just flat out better. Add to that you can easily mod it to look better than Oblivion.

If you're into RPGs, and you liked Baldur's Gate, then you you simply cannot live without Planescape: Torment. I doubt you'll find it even second hand in the shops (Although I've seen Amazon claim they have it in stock in a Vista compatible form), but it remains one of the best RPGs ever made, an absolute treat for the brain. Amazing setting, incredible depth of choice, NPCs with fully fleshed out personalities that you will genuinely care about, cracking dialogue, and a really different story. You'll never want to touch WoW again.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, is a good game to try. It's a dark gritty modern setting and you get to drink blood. In terms of story and gameplay, I think it's one of the best.

You might also want to try Knights of the Old Republic (KotOR).

Be sure to patch Bloodlines though, the initial release has a lot of glitches.
