If your goal is fat loss and you don't want to eat that close to bed, I'd say don't. :)

    Hi There

6 meals a day is a guide, it is not carved in stone.

Basically folks are looking to do 3 things

    • Lose weight
    • Gain weight
    • Maintain weight
No matter which of the above is your goal, success is achieved by eating the correct amount of calories to meet that goal.

The idea behind the 6 small meals a day is to help keep your blood sugar stable, which helps prevent cravings which are usually fed with junk foods.

To be able to have 6 small meals spaced three hours apart you would neeed to be up and about for at least 18 hours a day.

Your 5 meal schedule will be more than sufficient as you have no large gaps between meals. And actually your pre bedtime shake counts as a meal, so you are having 6 meals a day :)

For me personally, I am up each weekday morning at 04:45, so I actually have my calories spread over 8 meals, and one of my mid morning meals is a shake and two teaspoons of peanut butter.

    Best Regards,

    Michael
