Advice on travelling to Thorpe Park

    Hi,

I am thinking of going over to Thorpe Park for the day, sometime in June (midweek). Hoping to fly out on an early morning flight, and get the last flight home.
At the moment, Aer Lingus is too expensive, so Heathrow isn't an option.

Which airport is the next closest to Thorpe Park, or, ideally, which airport has the best transport links to reach Thorpe Park as easily as possible.

Also, can you tell me how to get from Gatwick, Stansted or Luton to Thorpe Park please :)

    Thanks!

Seems you have to fly over, go into London city and then get the train to Staines and bus from there to the park.
That's a lot of travel time for one day at the park.

Easiest, fly to Gatwick and drive to park.

We've often gone over on a day trip, love Thorpe Park! The easiest thing to do (without hiring a car) is fly to Gatwick, get the train to Clapham Junction, and change there for the train going to Staines. Because you're not *technically* going into central London, the train fares are much cheaper. We paid about £15 each for a return ticket last September. If you can make specific trains, you can get them even cheaper on the Southern / Southwestern trains websites.

ETA: last time we went over, we got the earliest Ryanair flight (I think about 8am) and were in the park by around 11am. Plenty of time then to go around. We also got the last flight home that night from Gatwick, and only had to leave the park at 5.30. So we got the full day. It takes about an hour to get from Gatwick to Staines railway station, and there's always a shuttle bus to meet the train. Takes about another 10-15 mins to get from there to the park. Enjoy it, Thorpe Park is brilliant! I have a few tokens for buy one get one free entry into the park, let me know if you're interested and I'll send you one!

Thanks so much for your help guys!

I'm gonna book flights today I reckon. Flights are €6 return to Gatwick! (Midweek in june).
The morning flights leaves Dublin at 7.55am, and the flight home departs at 20.55. That should be enough time there.....shouldn't it? :-)

    Very excited now!

23Skidoo, thanks for the offer of the 2 for 1 tokens. I will probably take you up on that offer! :)

    Thanks.

Any more advice is appreciated :)

No probs, just pm me if you want them. I won't get to use them this year :(. The only other advice I have (if you haven't been there before) is to make sure to go on Rush, it's one of our favourites! And eat some of their donuts for me! Mmmmmm....donuts....

    Hiya,

Is it too late to ask you for those 2-for-1 vouchers....? :)
I tried sending you a pm a few minutes ago, but I'm not sure if it sent or not.

    Thanks a million :)
