Gallbladder removal

    Hi lads,

I need a bit of help. I have a very inflammed gallbladder and gallstones. Misdignosed since May 2008..IBS..and the like. Not the normal textbook type. Got confirmation in February this year that my gallbladder is the source of my misery and I have been on a public waiting list since the middle of March. Can anyone please tell me what is the waiting time for Dublin Hospitals Tallaght, Vincents or James for gallbladder removal? Also any advice on the National Treatment Purchase Fund. Would this be a better option than a public waiting list?

    Thanks,
    Buttercup:)

have you contacted any of the hospitals you've mentioned or had a peek on the NTPF website?

If I remember rightly, the NTPF site, does have waiting list stats on there, but not sure anymore.

the best way to find out the waiting list in a particular hospital is to ring them directly

the consultants secretary should be able to give you an idea
