A buddy has an Octavia Scout ’09. He recently decided to upgrade lamps on his trailer lightboard to LED.
I am told the elec fitted resistors to compensate for the LEDs and fool the blown bulb system.
    The lamps are not working!
    Should there be coding done?

    I'll tell you Jim.

Its a unique issue between every other car. I had an Audi which was one stop and tail and 2 tail bulbs. 1 part of the units on each side refused to accept the LED's even with resistors and a bigger fuse on the fuse board.(ironic because the LEDs draw less power).

I was desperate and I asked all over the internet so I suggest you find yourself a good auto electrician and see the problem through from there.
