Hi, I've gotten a couple of lessons before from Courtney Krugre in the Galway driving range and found him very good. My neighbour has gotten a lesson of him recently and found him good also. Think he'll also do the lesson in Glenlo Abbey driving range if that's more convenient. I can send you his number by PM if you wish.

Ive had one with Gary Madden. Found him a nice chap & good teacher. Just starting to see the fruits of it now shot wise but my scores are still crap.

PM sent with details. Depending on what part of Galway you're based, Hugh O'Neill in Ballyconnelly is supposed to be very good also I hear. Bit of a pain to get to if you're city based but know a couple of guys that got lessons with him and he really improved their game.

    Hi Lumo22

Just wondering did you end up getting lessons and who did you go with?

    Thank you

Hi, ended up going with Courtney Krugre in the driving range in Salthill, went for 3 lessons, found the first one excellent, on grip, posture, stance swing mechanics.... the other two were just a repeat of these.. He was ok i thought.

Anyone try Tom Mullarney who teaches the Golf Machine? Had a few and found it very interesting in that he tries to teach how the swing works and improve your understanding so you can become basically your own teacher. Haven't played enough lately or put time in on the range with it yet but definitely liked the approach.

Hi doc. Went to tom early last year and he completely changed my swing. My irons are now much much better. He is very technical though and i reckon a novice would find it hard to pick up what he teaches.

    Hi
I was looking on the web and Tom came up as one of my first searches.
I think the rates he charges for group lessons are greatr value and im definitely thinking of getting lessons from him

As scrubber says Tom is very technical. He spent a couple or 3 years in The States learning about the mechanics of the swing and how to teach it. He really knows his stuff but isn't really for me. Just way to technical.

Dave Mortimer in Galway GC I think is a good pro, I went to him when he was in the Academy in Carton House.

Not sure of exactly where he is now but I do know he moved upto Galway to be a pro for a club.

Gary Madden is the man. Will hone in on your main problems, give simple, effective fixes and drills and send you off to work on them. Can coach to an advanced level if required. Coached the Irish Girls U18 team this year for the Girls European Team Championships in Sweden. Surprised he is still taking on new students TBH.

Went to him last winter and planning on going to him again in the off season. Coaches out of Salthill Driving Range and Athenry GC.
