I've got a question about running in the summer if you have long hair. This year is the first since I started running that my hair is long and whereas before I'd wash it every day after a run I'm wondering do people wash their long hair after every run in the summer?

I know in the grand scheme of things this is quite a trivial question but am interested to hear from other long haired runners.

    Hey there,
Its not that strange a question.... or else Im just an airhead who devotes too much thought to these things...
I pretty much was my hair after every run, which I dont like doing (5/6 washes a week cant be good), but particularly in warmer weather its hard not to. I guess it depends on the length of your runs though, perhaps you can get away without it after the shorter ones (less miles = less sweat)
Other than that, Ive invested in a treatment conditioner and use it once a week or so to stop it drying out.

Now, back to my nail polish....

I`m female, Ive long hair well past my elbows and Ive always washed my hair every morning with conditioner and every evening after a run/gym.
I never blowdry it just tie it up before bed or leave it to dry naturally walking to work in the mornings, Ive done this all yr round since i dunno when...
As long as you`re using mild products and not pulling and dragging the hell outta it you should be fine, (massage not scrub), Baby shampoo is a good option and a leave-in conditioner will cut down on the time aspect.
