BMW Z4 2.2 opinions

    Hi all,

    Thinking of getting something impractical for a couple of years while I still have the opportunity before any kids come along and suck up all my spare cash.

    Thinking of a used Z4 2.2, falls nicely within budget. So good boardsies, what are your opinions of these? Are there any particular known issues with them that some owners can report?

    Also does anyone have any experience of the 2.2 engine, in a Z4, 320 or 520? How did you find it running costs wise?

    If you're buying it for performance be warned - the 2.2 won't exactly suck your face off. If you're buying it for looks it's ok.

    Be aware that there's not much difference in fuel consumption between any of the 6 cylinder engines of the same generation. Things that make a difference are auto boxes and how healthy/sick the engine is. So don't think about fuel consumption when picking the engine size, consider motor tax and perhaps insurance.
